Race. Travel. Repeat.
For destination runners, registering for a race is often the easy part. Planning everything around it can mean searching across multiple websites for flights, lodging, transportation, race logistics, and local information. The Run Hub is addressing that fragmentation with a travel booking platform built specifically for destination runners.
Founded by Pilar Arthur-Snead, The Run Hub grew out of her MBA program and its hands-on use of the Lean Startup method. Pilar is also the customer she serves: she has completed 23 marathons around the world, including all six Abbott World Marathon Majors—New York, Berlin, Chicago, Tokyo, London, and Boston—and has experienced firsthand the pain points The Run Hub is working to solve. Her original concept was a race travel tour company for women of color, but customer discovery quickly challenged that assumption. Runners did not want someone else to plan an expensive group trip; they consistently wanted one place that brought together all the information needed to plan race travel. The process gave a name to a frustration Pilar had experienced herself and confirmed that other runners shared it, underscoring her strong founder-market fit.
That insight became The Run Hub, which Pilar describes as “the only travel booking platform built for the destination running community.” Working alongside her husband and co-founder, who serves as chief technology officer and is also a runner, Pilar built the application and led the customer discovery behind it. After testing an early concept in Figma, she moved the platform into Replit and launched a functional beta for paid users.
The company’s next challenge is traction: growing from eight paid beta users to 100, applying feedback, and building the evidence needed to attract investors. Pilar is also refining the market story so investors can understand both the scale of the running economy and The Run Hub’s potential to expand beyond its initial community into additional markets.
“I’m excited to join a community of founders who are building in travel tech and already understand the value and challenges of creating products for this industry,” said Pilar Arthur-Snead, Founder & CEO of The Run Hub. “Through Travel Tech’s Start-Up Membership Program, I hope to connect with other founders, learn from people who know the space, and build relationships with investors who understand companies at our stage.”
As The Run Hub works toward its next 100 paid beta users, Pilar is focused on validating the platform, refining its growth strategy, and building a stronger case for investment. With its dedicated approach to race travel, the company aims to make every stage of the destination running journey easier—from registration to the starting line.
