Travel Tech Innovator Profile: ItinAFairy

Your travel companion that helps you explore more and stress less.

Finding something meaningful to do—close to home or while traveling—can mean sorting through endless search results, generic lists, and social media recommendations. ItinAFairy is simplifying that process with a personalized travel companion designed to help people make the most of their free time.

Founder and CEO Kirsten Tucker created ItinAFairy because she believes leisure time should not feel stressful. Early in her career, she worked in nuclear medicine and saw how deeply people valued having more time to experience life. With more than a decade of experience as a travel agent, Kirsten understood firsthand how personal travel planning can be. She was also the go-to trip planner for friends and family, creating itineraries around each person’s interests and personality

ItinAFairy recommends things to do based on who a traveler is and the experience they want to create. By condensing an overwhelming amount of information and emphasizing personalization, the platform helps users discover relevant activities—including local businesses and hidden gems that might otherwise be overlooked.

Like many early-stage companies, ItinAFairy is working to secure initial funding, build visibility, and help consumers recognize the cost of decision fatigue. Kirsten’s team hopes to shift the mindset from “How much information can I find?” to “Can I just enjoy the experience?”

“Travel Tech Association feels so refreshing because I’ve been in technology groups, and I’ve been in tourism groups, and it can feel like everybody is missing the point,” Kirsten said. “Here, we’re all at a similar place. I’m excited to be around other founders who understand the challenges, as well as mentors and advisors who truly understand travel tech and how it differs from other technology sectors.”

As a Maryland-based company in the greater Washington, D.C., region, ItinAFairy is also joining a community close to home. Through Travel Tech’s Start-Up Membership Program, Kirsten hopes to build relationships with peers and advisors who understand the travel technology landscape. With its focus on personalization, meaningful experiences, and local discovery, ItinAFairy is helping travelers explore more and stress less.
