[Washington, DC] July 16, 2026 – Travel Tech Association (Travel Tech), the unified voice for the travel technology ecosystem, joined a coalition of small- and medium-sized businesses and trade organizations in signing a letter urging the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold a hearing on and advance the American Innovation and Choice Online Act (AICOA) and the Open Apps Market Act (OAMA).
Addressed to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Ranking Member Richard Durbin, the letter argues that open and competitive digital markets are essential to innovation, investment, and economic growth. The coalition contends that dominant online platforms can use their market position to disadvantage competitors and limit opportunities for emerging businesses to reach customers and scale.
The letter highlights AICOA as a measure designed to establish clear rules for the largest online platforms and address conduct that may unfairly disadvantage competing products and services. It also points to OAMA as a way to promote competition within mobile app ecosystems and provide developers and consumers with greater choice.
For travel technology companies, competitive digital marketplaces play an important role in enabling innovation, expanding consumer choice, and supporting entrepreneurship across the industry. Travel Tech continues to advocate for policies that foster a fair and competitive marketplace where companies of all sizes can compete on the merits of their products and services.
The coalition letter was signed by Travel Tech alongside organizations and companies including Mozilla, Yelp, Proton, Y Combinator, Internet Works, the Little Tech Association, Flickr, and the Responsible Online Commerce Coalition.
