How Travel Tech Association Connected Alō Index with a Strategic Investor

September 22, 2026

Alō Index credits Travel Tech’s Start-Up Membership with helping open doors, validate relationships and create meaningful opportunities for growth.

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026 — For start-up founders, the right introduction can do more than spark a conversation. It can create credibility, deepen relationships, and help transform a promising connection into a meaningful business opportunity.

When Alō Index reconnected with Steve Reynolds through Travel Tech’s July Start-Up Meet-Up, the alignment was immediate. As a longtime travel technology leader and founder of Tripbam, Reynolds brought hotel and start-up expertise directly relevant to Alō Index’s business. According to co-founder and CEO Anna Feinberg, the Meet-Up created something more meaningful than a traditional introduction.

Co-founded by Anna Feinberg and COO Leanne Turner, Alō Index helps hotels turn sustainability data into measurable business value by making it easier to collect, organize and share that information with travel managers, meetings and events planners, travel advisors and guests. As the company supports hotels and travel buyers through RFP season and expands into meetings and events, relationships across the travel technology ecosystem have become especially valuable.

“Better than a warm intro,” Feinberg said. “It provided credibility that we are an active start-up in this group, and Steve brought deep hotel background in the area where we work.”

After the meetup,  Feinberg and Reynolds connected for follow-up conversations, where it became clear there was strong alignment around the company’s product, market opportunity and the knowledge Reynolds could bring. He now serves on Alō Index’s advisory board, providing guidance as the company continues to grow.

For Turner, the value of the connection was reinforced by the context in which it happened. Alō Index had previously crossed paths with Reynolds in the broader industry, but reconnecting through Travel Tech added a second layer of validation. The meetup helped confirm both the relevance of Alō Index’s work and the strength of the relationship.

Beyond the connection with Reynolds, Alō Index’s founders pointed to the broader value of Travel Tech’s Start-Up Membership Program: access to monthly meetups, actionable advice from experienced industry leaders, founder-to-founder knowledge sharing and opportunities to build relationships across corners of travel they may not otherwise encounter.

“When you’re a start-up founder, you can either be alone on an island, or you can be surrounded by really helpful, thoughtful, engaged people who are doing the same thing you’re doing,” Feinberg said. “These have been a lifesaver for us. I can’t overstate the value.”

For Travel Tech, Alō Index’s experience reflects the purpose of the Start-Up Membership Program: helping early-stage travel technology companies get connected to the people, insights and opportunities that can move their businesses forward.
